Glass Phallus Vessel

I made this vessel using glass in my home studio. I built up layer upon layer, winding the glass around a steel rod. By altering the flame chemistry I created unique reactions and textures. Finally, I applied a layer of fine silver over the surface of the vessel.

Once done, I placed the vessel in my professional digitally-controlled kiln for a good long annealing soak, and then a slow cool-down. This final step ensures each piece I make is free of cracks, providing for a long-lasting work of art.

When finally cooled, I cleaned and inspected it, removing any remaining release and checking for damage. I attached a wire-wrapped topper to the cork using strong glass and metal adhesive. I then created the remainder of wire-wrapping which grips the phallus tightly.

The vessel measures 53mm tall with the cork inserted, 29mm at its widest, and 20mm from front to back.

Even though I anneal my glass, it is still glass and will break if bashed into a hard surface or subjected to high pressure. Each piece is carefully packed in bubble wrap and a sturdy box for shipping. I will combine shipping on glass.
